Tess Is (Well, Was...) 18 Months!

We were a few months late, but Tess had her 18-month checkup on April 23rd, right after her 20-month mark.

The stats:
Weight - 26 lbs, 5 oz (still 50th percentile)
Height - 32 1/4 in (about 2 1/2 feet -- also still 50th percentile)

This time we were seen by Nurse Nancy, who was also very impressed with Tess's vocabulary and articulation. We had a bit of a traumatic start to the appointment, since the medical assistant tried to put Tess on the standing scale -- it's wobbly and it freaked her out. Then the appointment culminated in an ear-wax removal procedure and another vaccination (shot). I figure, with as great as she's been, I'm due at least ONE difficult doctor's visit! And there was a sticker to be had at the end....stickers seem to make everything better, for now.

Even though we're way past the 18-month mark at this point, here's some overall updates on Tess milestones:

--She has too many words to count! We've moved on to phrases and sometimes complete sentences, and lots of mimicking whatever someone says to her. She gets more articulate every day!
--She's moved from the high chair to the booster seat.
--She's no longer a "fall risk" on the stairs (thank GOD!).
--She still won't keep ANYTHING in her hair (probably my biggest frustration, strangely).
--We're definitely approaching what some call the "terrible twos," with an increased frequency of little meltdowns/temper tantrums when she doesn't get her way.
--Food/drink favorites are: Welch's fruit snacks, bananas, french fries, milk, water, and apple juice.
--She loves to watch her Baby Signing Time videos (still), and has moved from learning signs to learning words and phrases; she also loves Sesame Street and Bubble Guppies.
--She loves bubbles, walks, big kid slides, swinging, swimming, drawing, and Burnie.
--And, most of all, she loves her DADDY. She's always pointing out Daddy's this or that, and talking about where Daddy is ("Daddy work!"). It's adorable, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

In just about 3 months we'll be celebrating 2 years of MASSIVE life change with our precious "Punky." Hard to believe, since it's gone by so fast, yet I can't even remember what my/our life was like before she came along!
